Creepy Eyeball Ice Punch

Create this creepy floating ice eye ball for your punch. Along with some red punch this will set your theme up on your table.

You will need:

Round-bottom bowl

Flat bottom bowl

Kiwi fruit

Black olive

Chunk Style Pineapple

Red lace candy

Red punch

Directions:

Balance the round bottom bowl inside another bowl with a flat bottom. Slice kiwi fruit horizontally about 3/8 inch thick. Cut out the white center of the fruit; discard. Place the kiwi in the center of the bowl.

Cut a 3/8-inch-thick slice off the end of a pitted black olive. Place olive slice in the center opening of the kiwi with the rounded tip touching the bowl. Place chunk pineapple pieces along the edge of the kiwi to create the iris of the eye.

Cut random lengths of red lace candy, leaving them long enough to extend over the edges of the bowl. Carefully place the red lace candy along the sides of bowl, touching the pineapple at the bottom and extending over the edges of the bowl at the top.

Place the stacked bowls on the freezer shelf. Very slowly pour water into the bowl until the bowl is one-third full. Freeze for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until ice forms a firm layer and begins to turn white on the edges.

Add additional water to fill the bowl to within 1 1/2 inches from the top. Freeze 4 to 6 more hours or overnight.

Dip the bottom of the ice-ring bowl into a sink of warm water. Then slip the ice ring out of the bowl and place it in the punch.

This creepy Giant eyeball will keep your punch cold and your guests shivering too!

Candy Corn Favors

If you are having a Halloween party or are sending gifts to schools you may need a cute way to package some sweets. Use this download to print on white card stock.

Use double sided tape along your long edge. Roll to form cone. Next add another strip of double sided tape to your open end. Stick tissue paper of coordinating color around the edges. Use a 7″ wide, 20″ long strip and ruffle (as shown) against edge. Overlap ends slightly and secure with tape. Fill with your hearts desire. (Candy corn would be perfect 😉 ) Wrap with ribbon when full and you have a beautiful candy Corn Favor!

The original poster from Skiptomylou.org even suggested having them sit on individual plates on a dinner table. How super cute would that be. Like Christmas crackers but filled with candy! A perfect Halloween specialty!

Ginger Bread Men-Halloween style

If Halloween is not your holiday you may be bursting to bust out the next holidays goodies. But you can modify them to make them work now! Find your favorite gingerbread recipe (sorry not a fan so I dont have one to suggest!) And cut out all your little ginger bread men.

Now decide how you want to decorate these cute little guys! Make some mummies with white royal icing and black highlights. Or just use white and make them a little skinnier than the usual chunky men! How simple but effective.

Crazy Hair Costume

Is there a male in your family that doesn’t like the whole idea of costumes and dressing up? Your not alone. Not many guys are as into Halloween as the female population. But this may be something you can persuade your guys into.

A simple outfit of Hawaiian style should be easy. But the hair is where this shines! You need some spray color. Either from Target or a beauty supply store. Lots of hair spray, and a comb. Play with it to get it your way. Longer hair might be harder but could make an even better, BIGGER wave! Glue a hair clip to a cheap surfer toy and add to your wave-a-licious hair! How cute and very original!

Candy Corn Cheesecake Mouse

Yum! I saw this and beyond knowing it was cheesecake mouse I just thought the colors and presentation looks amazing! And its super easy. Like always I dont want you spending days over each project. Because you need to check back here daily for the next one!

Ingredients:

1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/4 cup milk or cream

1 tsp vanilla

1 (8 oz) tub of cool whip

Orange and yellow food coloring

candy corn to top

Directions:

Beat cream cheese in the bowl of an electric mixer until fully smooth.  Slowly add powdered sugar, then milk (or cream).  Add vanilla.  Continue mixing.  Beat about 1 minute on medium to medium-high speed.  Fold cool whip into cream cheese mixture, and stir until fully combined.

Scoop about 1/3 of the Cheesecake Mousse into a bowl, and color orange.  Color another third of the mixture yellow.  Leave the remaining third white.  One color at a time (starting with yellow), scoop mixture into a piping bag or large ziplock bag, and squeeze a layer of the Cheesecake Mousse into small dessert dishes of your choice.  Repeat with orange and then white Mousse.

Refrigerate 30 minutes (or up to 1 day) before serving.  Garnish with candy corn if desired. Recipe yields 4 moderate servings or 6-8 mini servings.

Bat Invasion

I’m one of those people that love Halloween but not in a tacky way. This is sometimes hard to accomplish. But this craft really decorates a whole room and still looks cute. Can you imagine kids waking up to this! Again simple craft, you are all able to do it no excuses! This mom created this amazing space with just simple items and time. You can too!

And especially if your planning on hosting a party and staying under budget. All you are going to need for this craft is:

Black craft paper

Scissors

double sided tape (or you can roll regular tape)

And the template from COUNTRY LIVING found HERE

Fold your black paper in half and use the template on the folded side. Making sure not to cut your folded edge to create a mirror imagine, cut your bat out. You can trace your images or just cut holding your template. It doesnt need to be perfect, unless you have an inspector living in your house who cares about that. People will be too in awe of the total effect to notice small imperfections.

Use your double sided tape to adhere the bats to a wall. Remember bats like to fly in steams to don’t just make a big blob, not the same effect. Haha

They especially look nice and creepy at night with lights on! This is just too super cute. I think I need to add this to the list of projects to attempt before Sawyer arrives too!

Pumpkin Cake Stand

You may not own 20 odd cake displays like myself. (and I still always find the need to buy more!) But that shouldn’t stop you from having your own show stopping stand for your halloween party! This is beyond simple.

Grab 2 small pumpkins, making sure to level the bottom and top so your beautiful cupcakes dont go toppling over the sides. Then get three plates. You can use clear but black would also be fun for a festive theme! Stack first your large plate, then a pumpkin, layer your medium plate and another pumpkin, and top with a small plate. Add your goodies and you will be making everyone ask how you are so brilliant with your displays!

Puffy Paint Pumpkins

If you dont feel like cutting into a juicy pumpkin and getting messy this Halloween, then this is the craft for you! You can decide between using a real pumpkin or simply a craft pumpkin that you can use year and year again! You just need the pumpkin and some puffy paint.

Decide on your design and simply lay out dots of the pain on your pumpkin. Make Swirls, letters and other designs. Let your creativity soar! This is especially good in houses that don’t want to use a lit flame inside a hollow pumpkin. And look great all day long too!

Sock Skeleton

We’ve all heard of sock monkey’s but this time of year they may not be as festive. But have no fear because Martha Stewart has already thought of that. She has a full tutorial on her website! And after watching the video I now too feel like this is an easy doable craft! The question is can I squeeze making one into the time between now and Sawyer arriving!

You dont need too much sewing experience. Basic lines and hand sewing is all it takes. That and one single pair of white athletic socks. And then you have a super cute handmade gift for a little one. Or just a household decoration, they are too cute not to make!

OCTOBER!

So if you didn’t know, I am the biggest Halloween fan. And if I had unlimited money I would be doing this holiday up this year! However, I did not win the lottery (That I don’t ever play) plus I am gonna pop this baby out any day now! So since I know I’m already bad at posting I have set up a scheduled post for each or every couple days. All in the spirit of Halloween! How fun! And how not procrastinating of me!

Lets start off with a simple craft, and decoration you can hang on your front door all month long. Start with a a wire frame, you can find them in a couple different sizes at your local craft store. Get some fake moss, also found at your local craft store. Hot glue gun the moss to the frame edges. Now get 17ish mini pumpkins at your grocery store and hot glue gun those on as well. Tie a large bow with extra wide ribbon. And tada hang on your door for a classy spooky decoration!

Stay tuned for each new post. There will be costume idea’s, decorations, recipes and more! You dont want to miss this month!
